What our church logo represents
“cityView Worship” - Church of Oxnard can be described in many different ways. However, we will keep it simple. We are an… Evangelistic Church and a Worshipping Church.
1. The word cityView
“Continually seeing the need in our city” – Viewing the need always!
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it.
The only two recorded instances of Jesus shedding tears are when Lazarus died and here when he cry’s over the City.
eklaasen ‘wept aloud;’ (This is the same word that is used when Peter wept Mark 14:72 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept”)
2. The word Worship
“Continually lifting up the name of Jesus at cityView Worship – Church of Oxnard.”
32 And, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.
3. The symbol of the cross
“Continually preaching the message of the cross no matter what!”
In Jesus’ day the cross was a huge shame. It involved nakedness, physical humiliation, blame (you must have done something horrendous if they are crucifying you). You were a curse!
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."
The “CROSS” at cityView Worship is the heart of the church’s message.
4. The symbol of the heart beat
“Continually breathing life into people and keeping hearts beating”.
Oxnard won’t be the only “cityView Worship Church”. We will plant many more “cityView Worship Churches” in Ventura County, California, throughout the United States of America and in many different countries around the world!!!!
13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”
